What’s with the purplish color of your period?

The purple color of women’s menstrual blood may be related to physiological reasons such as low menstrual blood volume, or pathological reasons such as polycystic ovary syndrome and decreased ovarian function, which need to be analyzed specifically.
1. Physiological reasons: the day before menstruation or towards the end of menstruation, the shedding of little endometrium, oxidized in the uterine cavity may cause menstruation like purplish red.
2. Polycystic ovary syndrome: women with polycystic ovary syndrome have scanty menstrual flow and low menstrual blood volume, which in turn causes menstrual blood to remain passively in the reproductive tract for a longer period of time, and menstrual blood is oxidized, which may end up looking like a purplish red color.
3. Decline in ovarian function: Decline in ovarian function will lead to a decrease in the level of estrogen secretion, which will cause the endometrium to be thin, the shedding of the endometrium is less bleeding less, the menstrual blood stays in the reproductive tract for a longer period of time, which may lead to abnormal color of menstrual blood and purplish-red menstruation.
There may be other reasons for women to have purplish menstrual blood, and it is recommended to go to the hospital for relevant examinations.
