Five years after jaw angle removal, the sequelae may include scarring, abnormal facial sensation, facial deformation and so on. 1. Scarring: mandibular angle resection will cause damage to the skin, resulting in localized scarring. 2. Abnormal facial sensation: the inferior alveolar nerve canal may be touched during the surgery, and the nerve canal may be edematous, which may be manifested as abnormal sensation of the lower jaw and the corners of the mouth, which can only be perceived by oneself, and will not adversely affect the facial expression. 3. Facial deformation: During the surgery, the mandibular marginal branch of facial nerve is damaged, which involves the facial expression muscles, leading to paralysis of the middle and upper part of the cervical latissimus dorsi muscle, descending angle of the mouth muscle and descending lip muscle, resulting in facial deformation. It is recommended to go to the hospital for repair and treatment to avoid affecting the health and quality of life.
