What’s going on with the echogenicity of the liver parenchyma?

Dense echogenicity of the liver parenchyma may be due to problems with the internal structure of the liver. Liver fibrosis, cirrhosis and mild fatty liver cannot be ruled out. 1. Liver fibrosis: Liver fibrosis refers to the imbalance of production and degradation of intrahepatic fibers caused by multiple chronic liver diseases and multiple etiologies, which results in excessive collagen deposition in the liver and development of fibrosis along with inflammation, which can be detected by ultrasound test with the imaging feature of dense echogenicity of the liver parenchyma. The long-term development of liver fibrosis will lead to tissue damage and functional decline. 2. Cirrhosis: Cirrhosis is a common gastroenterological disease, which is mainly manifested by diffuse fibrosis in the liver, pseudo lobe formation, and hyperplasia of blood vessels inside and outside the liver, which can be detected in ultrasound test with the image characteristic of dense echogenicity of the liver parenchyma. 3. Mild fatty liver: patients with mild fatty liver have diffuse enhancement of near-field echoes and attenuation of far-field echoes in the liver, which can also be detected in ultrasound with dense liver parenchymal echoes. If dense liver parenchymal echogenicity occurs, it is necessary to consult a doctor in time to clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of the doctor, and carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
