If there is bruising on the toe, cold compresses should be applied to the surface immediately, either with ice or towels on the surface, or by placing the toe in ice water, in order to reduce further bleeding and to reduce the exudation of surrounding tissue fluid. Apply hot compresses after 1-2 days to speed up the circulation around the area so that the stasis of blood can be eliminated more quickly. If it is under the toe, subcutaneous tissue or muscle tissue, the bruising can gradually dissipate after 10-15 days due to the rich blood supply. If the bruising is under the toenail, it may affect the nail bed because it does not dissipate easily after a long period of time and may require surgical removal of the toenail under local anesthesia if necessary. This is because over time, the upper toenail will gradually fall off and a new one will grow back.
