Why don’t you have chemotherapy for stage IA stomach cancer?

The reason why chemotherapy is not used in gastric cancer stage IA is that the lesion can be eliminated after surgical resection treatment.
Gastric cancer is a malignant tumor of the digestive system mainly caused by various factors such as bad dietary habits and Helicobacter pylori. The main treatment method is comprehensive treatment based on surgical resection. According to the different clinical stages of the disease, the treatment methods can be slightly different.
In stage IA, the tumor cells are limited to the mucosal layer or submucosal layer, and there is no regional lymph node metastasis. Therefore, if the patient can tolerate the surgery, the main treatment for stage IA is radical surgical resection, and because the lesion is limited, better treatment effect can be achieved through surgery, so chemotherapy is often not needed after the surgery.
If patients have symptoms of stomach cancer, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals and be treated under doctors’ guidance to avoid delaying their condition.
