Does GERD give you diarrhea?

Gastric reflux esophagitis does not cause diarrhea. Gastric reflux esophagitis is an inflammatory lesion of the esophagus caused by the reflux of gastroduodenal contents into the esophagus. Gastroscopy can show esophageal erosion and ulceration, and in severe cases, it can cause esophageal stenosis or even cancer. Typical symptoms are acid reflux, heartburn and burning discomfort or searing pain behind the sternum, and a few people will have bloating, indigestion and sweating. If the reflux reaches the throat and mouth, coughing, dry mouth, foreign body sensation in the throat will occur, and diarrhea will not occur. If you have diarrhea, consider whether it is combined with other diseases, and we recommend that you go to the hospital for the appropriate examination according to the situation.
