Normal values of blood glucose at bedtime

For normal people, the normal value of blood sugar before bedtime should be less than 7.8 mmol/l. However, for patients with diabetes, it should be different from person to person. Especially in patients with different glucose-lowering regimens, such as patients on basal insulin or long-acting proliferators, then the bedtime blood glucose should be appropriately high to avoid nighttime hypoglycemia. For young patients and elderly patients, the bedtime blood glucose requirements are also different, so the blood glucose control target needs to be given in conjunction with the patient’s condition.
