It is normal to have milk coming out of the breasts before and after breastfeeding; it is not normal to have milk coming out of the breasts during the non-lactation period.
When a woman is breastfeeding, the level of prolactin in her body increases and she may produce milk from her breasts, which is a normal physiological phenomenon and not something to worry about. If there is milk coming out of the breasts during non-lactation period, this is an abnormal phenomenon, and it is considered that there may be diseases such as hyperprolactinemia or pituitary microadenoma. If the treatment is not timely, menstrual disorders and infertility may occur.
It is recommended that women go to the hospital as soon as possible to improve the blood prolactin measurement, head CT, head MRI and other related examinations, to clarify what causes the breast milk out.
