What to do if you are bitten by flying ants

Flying ant bites can be treated by applying alkaline solutions, topical medications, and oral medications.
1. Alkaline solution: Soapy water or sodium bicarbonate solution can be applied locally to neutralize the toxin.
2. Apply topical medication: When bitten by flying ants, localized itching, redness and swelling may occur. Glucocorticoid ointments, such as hydrocortisone ointment, dexamethasone ointment, mometasone furoate cream, etc., can be applied to fight inflammation and relieve itching.
3. Oral medication: Some patients may have allergy after being bitten, with red rashes and increased itching, etc. Oral antihistamines such as loratadine tablets and cetirizine tablets can be taken.
If bitten by flying ants, it is recommended to take medication under doctor’s guidance, not blindly, so as not to aggravate the condition.
