Lichen planus usually does not affect life expectancy, it is a disease but not life-threatening. In many people, after severe skin damage in the oral area of lichen planus and long-term untreated, the skin damage in the oral area will gradually turn into oral squamous epithelial hyperplasia, which can lead to oral cancer in some patients. This condition may endanger health and affect life expectancy only after repeated post-migration and improper treatment leading to the spread of cancer cells. Simple lichen planus can affect the quality of life, but it has no effect on life expectancy. It is recommended to try oral hydroxychloroquine sulphate, oral ragweed polysaccharide and, if necessary, oral multivitamins for the treatment of lichen planus. Dexamethasone acetate cream is recommended for oral area damage, and direct pathological testing of oral mucosal areas can be performed if necessary.
