The recovery of hemiplegic upper limb function is mainly based on rehabilitation exercises, which can be performed by supine active activities, pushing and lifting activities, elbow flexion and extension activities, forearm rotation and other exercises.
1. Supine active activity: when the patient’s muscle function is recovered, supine active upper limb activity can be carried out. Pay attention to the gradual progress, so as to avoid muscle damage.
2. Pushing and lifting activities: family members stand on the affected side of the patient, one hand holding the patient’s elbow to make it straight, the other hand and the patient’s affected hand cross hold, and then in the root of the palm of the patient’s upper limb pressure, so that the patient pushed the family members pressed in the root of the palm of the hand to the upper part.
3. Elbow flexion and extension activities: family members hold the patient’s upper arm on the affected side with one hand, and hold the patient’s affected hand with the other hand, so that the patient puts the hand to the healthy shoulder, and then straightens the elbow to touch the family’s forehead. The patient should keep the arm relaxed during the training process.
4. Forearm rotation: the patient takes a sitting position, places both hands on the table in front of the body, palms of the hands relative to each other, and then lets the patient rotate both sides of the forearms to the outside, so that the palms of the hands face up. If the patient’s affected hand cannot complete the rotation, the healthy arm can be used to drive the affected hand for training.
When hemiplegic patients carry out upper limb training and functional recovery, they need to carry out the treatment of the primary disease that causes hemiplegia at the same time, so as to promote the recovery of upper limb function. It is recommended that the patient should carry out rehabilitation exercises under the guidance of the doctor.
