Is it the same to have one kidney at birth and one kidney at birth?

Congenital one kidney and acquired one kidney are both called isolated kidney, which occurs due to different etiology and may lead to basically the same regression.
1. Different etiology: congenital isolated kidney is caused by dysplasia, usually found in physical examination, daily life is the same as normal people, there may be other urinary malformations at the same time; while the acquired isolated kidney can be due to trauma, infectious diseases, tumors, severe hydronephrosis and other reasons for the surgical removal of one of the kidneys.
2. Regression: Whether congenital one kidney or acquired one kidney, both take on the work of the two kidneys, will be compensatory enlargement, more likely than ordinary people patients with chronic kidney disease and renal failure.
Whether congenital or acquired isolated kidney, should focus on the usual lifestyle, moderate exercise, avoid the use of nephrotoxic drugs, and regular follow-up in the hospital.
