For patients with cervical 4/5/6/7 herniated discs, which are multi-segment herniated discs and meet the criteria for surgery, they can be cured with surgical treatment. If the patient is only treated conservatively, the symptoms can be relieved but usually not cured. Cervical 4/5/6/7 herniated discs are usually caused by trauma, disc degeneration, and multi-segment herniated discs, which compress the spinal cord and nerves, causing headaches, dizziness, pain and numbness in the extremities. A disc that has bulged usually cannot be restored to its original position, so the physiology of a bulging disc usually cannot be changed. Herniated discs that meet the criteria for surgery are the following. Conservative treatment for three months has not improved; huge nucleus pulposus prolapsed leading to severe chemical irritation symptoms, affecting work and life; huge herniated disc compressing the palsy nerve leading to urinary and defecation disorders; herniated disc compressing the nerve root on one side to appear muscle atrophy, and so on. Herniated discs can be cured by surgical treatment. If the pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots is relatively mild, there is no serious pain and limb movement disorder, conservative treatment can be chosen, such as cervical traction or taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drugs, such as ibuprofen, etc. However, it is not a cure. But it is not able to cure the herniated disc. Because the vertebral body has undergone physiological structural changes, conservative treatment alone cannot restore the vertebral structure to a normal state. For cervical 4/5/6/7 herniated discs, it is recommended that the patient go to a regular hospital in time to get a clear picture of the situation and be treated accordingly. The use of medication should be in accordance with the doctor’s prescription.
