Can too much beer cause gout?

Drinking too much beer can induce gout.
Due to purine metabolism disorders or uric acid excretion can lead to elevated blood uric acid, and elevated uric acid can form sodium urate crystals, precipitation and deposition in the joints around the tissue triggered by inflammation stimulation, resulting in the occurrence of gout, and high-purine diet is an important cause of gout.
High purine diet is an important cause of gout. Beer contains more purine substances, while drinking alcohol can inhibit uric acid excretion, alcohol intake and the risk of gout, therefore, frequent and large quantities of beer are prone to gout attacks.
Preventive measures for gout include limiting alcohol consumption, eating less animal offal, seafood, mushrooms and other high-purine foods, avoiding strenuous exercise, controlling the weight of overweight people in the normal range, and drinking more water and eating more fresh vegetables and fruits.
