Is there a high recurrence rate of submucosal rectal cancer

The specific recurrence of rectal cancer of submucosa is related to the stage, the earlier stage will have lower recurrence rate of about 10%; on the contrary, it is higher. Rectal cancer is a common malignant tumor, which can be caused by bad dietary habits, heredity, gene mutation and other factors. According to clinical staging, tumor invasion of submucosa is T1, and combined with lymph node metastasis and whether distant metastasis occurs, it can represent stage I-IV in TNM staging. Therefore, the prognosis of patients treated with surgery, radiotherapy and other methods varies according to the stage. For early stage, such as stage I patients, the recurrence rate after treatment is low, about 10%; while for intermediate and late stage the recurrence rate within three years is about 30%~50%.
