How long azithromycin should be taken at intervals depends on different diseases.
1. Once a day without interval: mainly used for sexually transmitted diseases caused by gonococcus and chlamydia.
2. 12 hours interval: mainly used for tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis and other diseases caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, sensitive bacteria and so on.
3. 24 hours interval: also used for bronchitis, pneumonia and other diseases caused by purulent streptococcus, sensitive bacteria and so on.
