How long do most people survive after surgery for malignant meningiomas?

There is no clear clinical data on exactly how long malignant meningiomas survive after surgery, usually around 4 years. Meningiomas are mostly benign tumors, but a small percentage of patients have malignant meningiomas. For the duration of survival after surgery for malignant meningiomas, an average survival of 4.1 years has been reported, and the 1-, 5-, and 10-year survival rates after surgery are 81.4%, 48.8%, and 27.5%, respectively. To prolong survival time, further therapeutic measures can be taken after surgery for patients with malignant meningioma. After surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy can be carried out in cooperation with doctors according to the actual condition, in order to kill cancer cells, further control the condition and improve the quality of life. At the same time, patients should also adjust their mindset. It is recommended that malignant meningioma patients should seek regular postoperative medical checkups in order to monitor the changes of their conditions and seek timely medical treatment for any maladjustment so as to avoid delaying their conditions.
