Sufentanil Injection, known generically as sufentanil citrate injection, is a potent analgesic that is mostly used during endotracheal intubation and general anesthesia using artificial respiration. Sufentanil Citrate Injection has maximum potency within minutes after intravenous administration and also has good hemodynamic stability. The drug is used clinically for endotracheal intubation, general anesthesia with artificial respiration, as an analgesic for combined anesthesia, and for induction and maintenance of anesthesia for major surgical procedures under general anesthesia. It should be noted that the use of sufentanil citrate injection is contraindicated in people who are allergic to any of the components of the drug, neonates, pregnant women, lactating women, patients with acute hepatic porphyria, people with respiratory depression induced by other medications, patients with respiratory depression, patients with hypovolemia, people with low blood pressure, and people with myasthenia gravis. The drug should also not be used concurrently with monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
