Typical signs of thrombocytopenia are bleeding from the skin and mucous membranes, including bleeding spots, petechiae, nosebleeds, bleeding gums and conjunctival bleeding. Severe thrombocytopenia may also result in internal bleeding, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, genitourinary bleeding and cerebral bleeding.
