Why preconception testing is necessary

Nowadays, we all pay much attention to eugenics, and our country has invested a lot of money in this area. The first part of eugenics is the preconception checkup. The preconception examination includes some examination items for both men and women, mainly gynecological examination, ultrasound and eugenics, infectious markers and vaginal secretions for women, while the examination for men mainly includes semen routine, infectious markers, urethral secretions and some other targeted examinations, through which some potential risks can be found: 1. If the couple has inflammation of the reproductive tract and they are unaware of the pregnancy, which causes upstream infection in women and infects the uterine cavity, the risk of embryonic arrest and miscarriage in early pregnancy and premature rupture of fetal membranes and uterine cavity infection in late pregnancy will increase, which is very unfavorable to women’s health and fetal development; 2. This will increase the psychological pressure on the one hand, and cause anxiety or other endocrine system abnormalities due to long-term infertility on the other hand; 3. Women undergo the four eugenic tests, which include rubella virus, herpes virus and toxoplasmosis virus, etc. These viruses can cause abnormal fetal development in early pregnancy and fetal malformation in late pregnancy. Early detection of these problems, early treatment and intervention will avert many risks in mid and late pregnancy.
