The causes of farting are physiological as well as pathological, the former being dietary factors and the latter being diseases such as indigestion. 1. Physiological causes: (1) Eating too fast: eating too fast may cause air to enter the esophagus, which may result in increased gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract, leading to farting symptoms. (2) Dietary factors: Eating too much food that is easy to produce gas, such as radish, sweet potato, chestnut, etc., will easily lead to the production of gas in the gastrointestinal tract. 2. Pathologic causes: (1) Indigestion: abnormal intestinal peristalsis state and other indigestion factors can lead to excessive gas accumulation in the intestines and daily farting phenomenon. (2) Disorders of intestinal flora: the number of gas-producing bacteria in the patient’s intestinal tract increases, leading to the production of gas during the fermentation of food. (4) Constipation: feces accumulate in the intestines for a long time, which can produce a lot of gas under the fermentation of bacteria. There are many other reasons for farting a lot. If the patient has serious symptoms of farting a lot, or if the symptoms persist and do not get better, he should go to the hospital for treatment.
