Can a new coronavirus damage the heart?

  With the spread of novel coronavirus, there are patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia combined with acute myocardial infarction across the country, so there is concern that novel coronavirus can damage the heart.  Most patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia have fever, malaise, and dry cough as the main manifestations, and only some patients have complications, including acute respiratory distress syndrome and acute heart injury. Currently, novel coronavirus infection is considered as the causative agent or cause of myocardial injury and myocardial ischemia, but the specific pathogenesis has not been clarified.
