Can cervicitis cause HPV infection?

Cervicitis and HPV infection are two different diseases caused by two different pathogens. HPV infection is mostly an insidious infection and is a virus that is associated with cervical cancer. HPV infection does not usually cause inflammatory symptoms in the cervix, but is mostly caused by sexually transmitted disease pathogens, such as gonococcus or Chlamydia trachomatis, and endogenous pathogens, such as Bacterial vaginosis pathogens or mycoplasma infections of the reproductive tract can cause cervicitis.
