What is this sudden pain in the cervical spine?

Sudden pain in the cervical spine may be caused by disorders of the small joints of the cervical spine, or it may be caused by cervical spondylosis or cervical myofasciitis.
1. Disorders of cervical small joints: also known as subluxation of cervical small joints, the cervical spine is relatively unstable due to its anatomical position. When the neck is suddenly twisted or subjected to external forces beyond the compensatory range of small joints, synovial membranes may be embedded in the small joints, which may lead to strangulation or subluxation of the joints, resulting in sudden and severe pain in the neck.
2. Cervical spondylosis: degenerative lesions of the cervical spine may induce cervical spondylosis, which may cause pathological changes of the cervical spine, such as osteophytes, narrowing of the vertebral body space, displacement of intervertebral discs, etc., which may result in the tension of the soft tissues around the vertebrae on one hand; and on the other hand, there may be the nerve entrapment, which may lead to sudden pain in cervical vertebrae when the neck is moving or when it is kept in a posture for a long time.
3. Cervical myofasciitis: long-term work at work, reading cell phones and other people, there may be fatigue injury of the neck myofascia, resulting in the accumulation of metabolic products, induced by the cervical myofasciitis, stimulate the local tissues, sudden pain in the cervical vertebrae may occur.
