Rejuvenation myths – (re)doing double eyelid surgery to improve the appearance of sagging upper eyelids

When the upper eyelid droops, it changes the shape of the eye, especially on the outside, forming a crease on the outside of the outer corner of the eye, or in severe cases, a “triangle eye” with an interrupted eyelid curve (see left side of figure). If this is the case, the lower eyelid skin needs to be removed, leaving the upper eyelid with a thick, swollen appearance, and the sagging eyelid skin cannot be removed, otherwise the incision will exceed the orbital rim. In short, the desired cosmetic and rejuvenating effect is not achieved after surgery. The only way to restore the youthful shape of the eyelid is to lift the sagging upper eyelid, which can be achieved through endoscopic minimally invasive wrinkle removal and lifting. The result is a rejuvenating and cosmetic procedure that improves the eyelid shape while maintaining normal eyebrow-eye spacing (see the right half of the figure). Endoscopic eyelid lift to improve eyebrow and eyelid shape. The eyelid is lifted with a partial excision of the skin under the eyebrow incision (the incision marks are not obvious), while the frontotemporal endoscopic lift maintains the eyebrow-eye spacing, removes the frontotemporal wrinkles and improves the shape of the eyes.
