How long does it take for eye congestion to disappear?

The recovery time for eye congestion may vary from cause to cause and cannot be generalized. In daily life and in clinical practice, many eye diseases can cause eye congestion, such as conjunctivitis, Chlamydia trachomatis infection, fatigue and staying up late, etc. Different treatment methods are needed for different triggers. If conjunctivitis is the cause of eye congestion, antibiotic drops can be used in moderation and the symptoms will be gradually relieved in about 1 week. If it is caused by hypertension or diabetes, the original disease needs to be strictly controlled and the recovery time may be related to the individual’s physical condition and the original disease, which will take a relatively long time. If it is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, recovery may be gradual in about 2-3 weeks. If it is caused by fatigue and staying up late, the symptoms may improve in 2-3 days by supplementing sufficient sleep, improving living habits and improving eye hygiene. Patients need to drink more water, eat more vegetables for vitamins, and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and their symptoms will be relieved.
