What is the normal range of birth weight of babies

Babies born in the normal range of 2.5-4 kg are called low birth weight babies; babies born above this range are called huge babies. Low birth weight babies are most often born prematurely and to mothers with placental insufficiency; huge babies are most often born to mothers who have eaten too much nutrition during pregnancy and to mothers with diabetes. The risk of hypoglycemia is high in huge babies and low weight babies after birth, especially in huge babies whose mothers have diabetes during pregnancy, so such babies should be monitored regularly after birth, and once their blood glucose falls below 2.2 mmol/L, they need to be treated with oral supplemental glucose and, if necessary, intravenous glucose drips.
