Is Xuanmai Ganjie cold?

Xuanmai Ganjie is composed of Xuanshen, Maitong, Platycodon, and Licorice, and the four herbs combined are on the cold side overall. Xuan Shen clears heat and cools blood (relieving blood heat by clearing heat), nourishes yin and reduces fire (nourishing yin essence and lowering fire); Mai Dong nourishes yin and moisturizes the lungs (nourishing the lungs by replenishing the lung fluid), clears the heart and removes vexation (clearing vexation and heat from the heart); Platycodon grandiflorum promotes the lungs to dispel phlegm, induces diaphoresis and drains pus; Glycyrrhiza glabra clears heat and removes toxins (clearing heat and toxins in the body), and removes phlegm to stop coughing. Xuanmai Ganlang Granules have the effect of clearing heat and nourishing yin, expelling phlegm and facilitating pharynx, and are mostly used in the treatment of dry mouth and pharynx, sore throat and hoarseness caused by yin deficiency (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, and the emergence of hyperactive fire). Adverse reactions and contraindications are not clear. The medication should be taken under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner, and individuals should not take it on their own to avoid adverse reactions.
