One-stage suture after laparoscopic choledochal exploration refers to immediate suturing without placing T-tube drainage after incision of choledochal exploration.
Compared with the traditional T-tube drainage after choledochotomy, one-stage suture has the advantages of less trauma, quicker recovery, shorter hospitalization time, higher quality of life, and also avoids the risk of electrolyte disorders, acid-base balance imbalance, and T-tube slippage caused by the T-tube left in place for a long period of time.
It should be noted that there are more strict indications for one-stage suture after choledochotomy, such as the diameter of the common bile duct needs to be ≥8mm, intraoperative cholangioscopy or cholangiography should be clear that there is no stone residue, the pressure of the biliary tract should not be too high, the lower end of the bile duct must be patent, and the wall of the bile duct should not have obvious edema, bleeding, and mucous membrane erosion.
When discomfort occurs, it is necessary to actively consult the doctor and follow the doctor’s instructions for reasonable treatment.
