The term “great aunt” generally refers to a woman’s menstrual period. There are many reasons why menstruation comes back after a year’s absence, which may be caused by polycystic ovary syndrome, perimenopause, endometrial cancer, and so on.
1. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): When a woman of childbearing age stops menstruating for a year and then comes back to menstruation, it may be caused by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Due to the influence of hormones in the body, resulting in sparse ovulation or no ovulation, women experience amenorrhea, and if there is occasional ovulation, menstruation will come again.
2. Perimenopause: During perimenopause, due to the decrease of ovarian function, women may experience menopause, but if there is an occasional ovulation due to hormonal changes in the body, menstruation may occur again.
3. Endometrial cancer: Bleeding after menopause may be caused by endometrial cancer. Abnormal vaginal bleeding is caused by the invasion of cancer cells into the normal endometrial tissue.
There may be other reasons for menstruation to come back after a year of menopause. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, complete the relevant examination, clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of the doctor, and take active targeted treatment so as to avoid delaying the condition.
