Is the cure rate for vulvar cancer high?

Overall speaking, the cure rate of vulvar cancer is quite good, and the 5-year survival rate can reach 70%, and the recurrence rate of vulvar cancer is reported to be around 30%-40% in the literature. However, the prognosis of vulvar cancer is related to whether there is lymph node metastasis, tumor size, depth of infiltration of the tumor, and most importantly, the stage of the tumor, and the most important factors are the stage of the tumor and the presence of metastasis of the lymph nodes. Even if a patient with advanced stage has no inguinal lymph node metastasis or pelvic-abdominal lymph node metastasis, her 5-year survival rate can reach 80%; even if a patient with early stage has inguinal lymph node metastasis or retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis, her survival rate will drop to less than 50%. The treatment of vulvar cancer is based on surgery, because the vulva is a moist place and radiotherapy is easy to cause radioactive dermatitis. Radiotherapy is often given before surgery. If the lesion is too large and surgical removal is difficult, radiotherapy is given first to reduce the size of the lesion and then surgery is performed, and radiotherapy is given to patients with recurrence.
