What to do if you have acid reflux in pregnancy

Acid reflux in pregnancy is caused by high levels of progesterone. You can adjust your diet, change your sleeping position, wear loose clothing, and seek medical attention if necessary.

1. Adjust the dietary structure: during pregnancy, try to eat a light diet and drink plenty of water under the premise of ensuring nutrition. Spicy, greasy and stimulating diet, oversaturated and excessive consumption of carbonated beverages can lead to excessive secretion of gastric acid.

2. Change the sleeping position: pregnant women can use soft pillows to moderately elevate the head and shoulders when resting and sleeping, and a proper head-high-feet-low position can prevent acid reflux to a certain extent.

3. Wear loose clothing: Tight clothing around the waist and abdomen can promote acid reflux. So try to choose loose and comfortable clothes.

If the symptoms of acid reflux continue to be unrelieved after a pregnant woman intervenes on her own, it is recommended that she go to the hospital and take standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor, and do not blindly use medication on her own.
