Treatments for pimples on the nose include medication, chemical peels, laser and intense pulsed light, and surgical treatments, and patients should follow their doctor’s instructions.
Acne pits refer to the scar left after the healing of acne and other lesions on the skin surface, professionally known as “depressed scar” or “atrophic scar”, which is a kind of repair response of the body to tissue damage.
1. Medication: For patients who also have inflammatory acne, or who are in the age group with a high incidence of acne and frequent flare-ups, the acne itself can be treated with medications such as benzoyl peroxide and silicone agents as prescribed by the doctor.
2. Chemical peeling: Chemical peeling refers to the application of chemical peeling agents on the lesion skin, so that keratin coagulation, epidermal and dermal papillae to different degrees of necrosis, and the stratum corneum is then peeled off and gradually replaced by new epidermis, which improves the appearance of the skin texture. Chemical peeling agents include 25%~30% salicylic acid.
3. Laser and intense pulsed light: laser and intense pulsed light can start the skin’s damage repair process through the local photothermal effect on the scar, and promote collagen proliferation to achieve the purpose of repairing the depressed scar.
4. Surgery: The goal of surgery is to improve the appearance of a deep scar by replacing it with a small linear scar. For depressed scars, especially those that are slightly wider at the base and not rich in local blood supply, skin resurfacing and keloidectomy can be used.
It is recommended that patients who wish to undergo treatment should go to a regular medical institution and follow the advice of a specialist, rather than blindly treating the scar on their own to avoid delaying the condition or triggering adverse reactions.
