The etiology of rheumatoid arthritis has not been fully clarified, and may be related to genetic, occupational, smoking, infection and other factors.
1. Heredity: Current research has found that human leukocyte antigen-DRB1 allele mutation is closely related to the development of rheumatoid arthritis, while human leukocyte antigen-DQa1:160D is another strong genetic factor associated with rheumatoid arthritis in Han Chinese.
2. Occupation: People who are exposed to organic solvents, carbon dioxide or asbestos for a long period of time due to their occupation may have a higher risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis than others.
3. Smoking: Smoking is an important predisposing factor for rheumatoid arthritis, and smokers have a significantly increased risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis and a more severe form of the disease.
4. Infection: Viruses, mycoplasma, bacteria and other pathogens infecting the human body can induce the production of autoantibodies, thus affecting the development of rheumatoid arthritis.
It is recommended that rheumatoid arthritis patients go to the rheumatology and immunology department of regular hospitals for consultation, standardized diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of doctors, and regular follow-up.
