In most cases, Schmidt’s Nodule is asymptomatic, but in severe cases, it may cause symptoms such as low back pain or neurological symptoms. Schmidt’s nodes are degenerative changes in the spinal discs that occur when the disc contents protrude into the vertebral body. In most cases, there are no neurologic symptoms, and if they do not cause inflammation, there may be no obvious symptoms, and regular observation is sufficient. If the nucleus pulposus protrudes into the vertebral body and causes inflammation, there may be localized pain and limitation of movement, but no neurological symptoms. If the nodule protrudes into the vertebral body and buckles its posterior edge, it may irritate or compress the nerves and produce neurological symptoms, such as pain in the lumbar region or neck, severe pain after activity, or accompanied by symptoms such as dizziness. If the patient is in pain and discomfort, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital to identify the cause of the pain and under the guidance of the doctor for treatment.
