Anemia is a relatively common clinical symptom in the clinic, and there are more types of anemia. To determine which type of anemia is present, you need to go to a regular hospital for relevant laboratory tests, such as blood routine and bone marrow aspiration.
1. If the average red blood cell hemoglobin concentration and the average red blood cell volume in the blood routine are reduced, it is small cell hypochromic anemia. The common clinical diseases are iron deficiency anemia, thalassemia, and iron granulocytic anemia, etc., which require further examination of ferritin and other data for identification.
2. If the average hemoglobin concentration of red blood cells, the average volume of red blood cells and the average hemoglobin content of red blood cells are elevated in the routine blood test, it is often suggested that it is macrocytic anemia. Clinically, megaloblastic anemia is common. Blood folate and vitamin B12 levels need to be checked for differential diagnosis.
3. If the average red blood cell hemoglobin concentration and the average red blood cell volume are normal, the anemia is normocytic. This type of anemia has many causes, such as hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, acute leukemia, hemorrhagic anemia, etc. Bone marrow aspiration and other related tests can be done.
When the symptoms of anemia appear, you should consult the doctor in time, follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out relevant examinations, clarify the cause with the help of the doctor, and carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
