What to do if ASO is higher than normal

ASO higher than normal value suggests the existence of group A hemolytic streptococcal infection, seen in acute glomerulonephritis, acute tonsillitis, rheumatic fever and other diseases, need to be treated under the guidance of the doctor, such as general treatment, drug treatment and so on.
1. Acute glomerulonephritis: when edema is serious, appropriate restriction of water and sodium intake or use of diuretic drugs such as furosemide, patients with hypertension can use nifedipine to control blood pressure, penicillin and other antibiotics to treat streptococcal infections and so on.
2. Acute tonsillitis: if fever symptoms can be physical cooling or oral acetaminophen and other antipyretic analgesic, streptococcal infections also need to use penicillin and other antibiotic treatment. If acute tonsillitis recurs, surgical treatment is recommended, but surgery should be chosen during the remission period.
3. Rheumatic fever: bed rest, antibiotics and other drugs to control infection.
If the ASO is higher than normal, it is recommended to go to the hospital for consultation and standardized treatment under the guidance of professional doctors. The medication should be used according to the doctor’s prescription, do not self-medicate.
