At present, the treatment of breast cancer recurrence is still mainly based on surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy and targeted therapy.
1. Surgery, remedial mastectomy is the most important local treatment for patients with single-focal recurrence or operable recurrence. If axillary lymph node dissection was not performed in the first surgery, axillary surgical exploration or additional dissection is feasible when evidence of lymph node invasion is found by clinical or imaging examinations. If it recurs again as metastatic breast cancer, the chance of surgery will be lost.
2. Chemotherapy, commonly used chemotherapeutic drugs such as anthracycline (doxorubicin, epirubicin), paclitaxel (docetaxel, paclitaxel), cytotoxicity (capecitabine, cisplatin, carboplatin) and so on.
3. radiotherapy: if there is no previous history of chest wall irradiation, the scope of radiotherapy needs to include the affected chest wall in addition to the inner breast area.
3. Endocrine therapy drugs, such as tamoxifen, exemestane, letrozole, anastrozole, etc.
4. Targeted therapy drugs, such as trastuzumab, patuximab, neratinib, pyrrolitinib and so on.
The treatment of recurrent breast cancer should be carried out under the guidance of oncologists.
