What causes positive urine protein

Positive urine protein may be related to physiological factors, pathological factors, such as strenuous exercise, glomerular disease, tubular disease, etc.
1. Physiological factors: may be the patient’s strenuous exercise, high protein diet, etc.. It will cause a transient increase in urinary protein. However, after resting or reducing the high protein diet, the urine protein can turn negative, so there is no need to worry too much.
2. Pathologic factors
(1) Glomerular diseases: such as glomerulonephritis, glomerular filtration membrane is damaged, protein can be filtered out through the glomerulus into the urine, forming positive urine protein.
(2) Tubular diseases: for example, interstitial nephritis, due to tubular reabsorption dysfunction, reabsorption of protein will be reduced, so there will be protein in the urine.
Positive urine protein can also be seen in other causes, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, follow the doctor’s instructions for relevant examinations, with the help of the doctor to clarify the cause, and targeted treatment or therapy.
