What indicators to look for in anemia blood draw

The normal range of hemoglobin is different for different ages and genders. Anemia is diagnosed in adult men with hemoglobin <130g/L, in adult women with hemoglobin <120g/L, and in pregnant women with hemoglobin <110g/L. In addition, anemia can be classified into macrocytic anemia, normocytic anemia and microcytic hypochromic anemia based on the mean red blood cell volume, red blood cell hemoglobin content and mean red blood cell hemoglobin concentration, all of which are included in the blood count.
