Where is the pharynx?

The pharynx and the larynx are two organs, the pharynx is at the connection between the nasal and laryngeal cavities, and the larynx is below the pharynx and above the trachea. 1. Pharynx: The pharynx is a common channel for digestion and respiration, and can be divided into three parts: nasopharynx, oropharynx and pharynx, nasopharynx is the connection between nasal cavity and soft palate. The oropharynx is between the soft palate and the plane of the upper edge of the epiglottis, and is connected to the oral cavity through the isthmus of the pharynx. The laryngopharynx is connected to the esophagus and larynx. 2. Larynx: Located directly below where the pharynx enters the trachea and esophagus, it is involved in respiration and produces sound. The larynx houses the vocal cords and controls pitch and volume. During eating, the epiglottis of the larynx drops down and closes over the vocal folds, covering the air passages through which the pharynx can pass and allowing food to pass smoothly into the esophagus. And when breathing, air passes through the nose, pharynx, and larynx before leading to the trachea.
