How to recover from a widened pelvis after giving birth

Widening of the pelvis after childbirth is a normal phenomenon, which can be improved through self-recovery and rehabilitation exercises. Pelvic widening is mainly due to the deformation of the pubic symphysis during labor and the pressure on the pelvis caused by the growing uterus during pregnancy. For women without serious injuries, pelvic laxity can recover on its own in about 3 months after delivery. If the injury is severe, such as anterior pubic symphysis separation and severe pelvic tilt, rehabilitation exercises (e.g. pelvic girdle, postnatal pelvic floor exercises, etc.) are needed to improve the quality of life under doctor’s supervision. Specific exercises need to be prescribed by the doctor.
