In general, a fetal choroid plexus cyst 6mmx7mm is not dangerous for the time being.
Fetal choroid plexus cyst is a condition in which a cyst-like change is found in the location of the lateral ventricle of the fetus during an ultrasound examination. Generally, the diameter of the choroid plexus cyst is small, but even if its diameter is larger than 5mm, there is no need to be overly nervous, and this manifestation will disappear gradually with the increase of gestational weeks most of the time.
If the choroid plexus cyst does not disappear after 26-28 weeks of pregnancy, and if it grows in size during regular follow-up, further investigation is needed. Delayed disappearance of choroid plexus cysts may be associated with chromosomal abnormalities, and amniocentesis is recommended to confirm the diagnosis and to rule out disorders such as trisomy 18.
Pregnant women should undergo regular prenatal checkups during pregnancy and should seek medical attention if they experience any discomfort.
