What does a parenchymal nodule mean?

Parenchymal nodules are a type of pulmonary nodule and are clinically classified as ground glass nodules, partially solid nodules, and solid nodules, with partially solid nodules being the most malignant. Solid nodules require consideration of whether the patient has had previous tuberculosis, tuberculosis bulbs, inflammatory pseudotumors, including proliferative nodules, calcified nodules, etc. Solid nodules need to be followed up dynamically according to their size and nature. If the nodules show growth changes, larger than 8mm, with short burrs, lobar, pleural depression sign, pleural traction sign and other changes, you need to be alert to the possibility of early lung cancer. In this case, enhanced CT examination of the chest and percutaneous lung puncture biopsy if necessary can be performed to clarify the diagnosis as early as possible. If the nodule shows growing changes, thoracic surgery can also be performed to remove the lesion to avoid missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis. Therefore, substantial pulmonary nodules need to be monitored dynamically for size as well as nature.
