Polyp on the eye usually refers to the phenomenon of conjunctival hyperplasia around the black eye, which is the phenomenon of pterygium. There are two main types of hyperplasia in this part, one is not covered by blood vessels, only yellow bumps, and does not penetrate deep into the black eye, mainly caused by conjunctival hyperplasia. It may also be caused by sand and ultraviolet stimulation of the lid, and it is not painful and does not affect the vision, so it is mainly observed clinically. The other type of lesion, which is covered with blood vessels and penetrates deep into the black eye, is called pterygium, which is a progressive disease that is also a hyperplasia of the conjunctiva and is associated with UV irritation. In summary, lid fissures do not need to be treated, while pterygium usually needs to be removed surgically.
