Difference between acute pyelonephritis and acute glomerulonephritis

Acute pyelonephritis and acute glomerulonephritis have different causes, different clinical manifestations and different treatment modalities.
1. Different causes: acute pyelonephritis belongs to the category of urinary tract infection, mostly caused by gram-negative bacillus infection; acute glomerulonephritis is caused by streptococcal infection.
2. Different clinical manifestations: the main clinical manifestations of acute pyelonephritis are fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, urinary frequency, urinary urgency, urinary pain, lumbago, etc.; the main clinical manifestations of acute glomerulonephritis are hematuria, proteinuria, oedema of the eyelids, oedema of the lower limbs, hypertension, etc..
3. Different treatments: patients with acute pyelonephritis should drink more water, urinate frequently, and use antibacterial drugs such as levofloxacin and amoxicillin; the treatment of acute glomerulonephritis should be bed rest, restriction of water and sodium intake, and symptomatic use of furosemide, spironolactone, and other diuretics for treatment.
