What is the difference between a fracture and a bone contusion

There are obvious differences between fracture and bone contusion: first, pain and swelling, because the fracture is heavy and the bone is interrupted, there will be more bleeding and obvious pain and swelling, and there may be a combination of local bruising; bone contusion does not have bone interruption, only edema of the bone, pain and swelling are not so obvious. Second, in terms of appearance, the local swelling of the fracture is very obvious, and there may be deformity or abnormal activity, and the bone rubbing sound appears after local pressure on the bone; the bone contusion is more stable, and there is no abnormal activity or bone rubbing sound. Thirdly, on the X-ray, the fracture will show a very obvious fracture line because the continuity of the bone is interrupted; the bone contusion is just edema of the bone and the continuity of the fracture is not interrupted, so it is often not detected on the X-ray, and the bone contusion can be diagnosed by MRI if it cannot be detected on the X-ray.
