The best age for orthodontics

Although orthodontic treatment can be performed at any age, dentists believe that the best age for orthodontic treatment is between the ages of 10 and 14. The best results are achieved when orthodontic treatment is performed during this period. Orthodontics allows the teeth of the upper jaw to bite into the teeth of the lower jaw. Between the ages of 10 and 14 the mouth and head are still growing, and during this time the lower jaw grows longer and the area around the mouth expands. The teeth are more easily straightened during this period, so if a child finds a crooked tooth at the age of 10, it is time to get orthodontic treatment. However, orthodontics can affect a child’s facial appearance, so parents should always ask their child’s opinion before giving him or her orthodontic treatment. But orthodontics is not something that can’t be done for people who are not in that age group; many adults can also have their teeth straightened. Orthodontic braces are required, and these braces work best between the ages of 10 and 14, while other ages may require a longer time for the braces to work. Therefore, it is best for people who need orthodontic treatment to choose the best age to achieve the best results.
