Acupuncture bloodletting for shingles is effective.
Shingles, in Chinese medicine, is known as snake string sores. Acupuncture treatment is based on the principle of promoting dampness and clearing heat, detoxifying and diarrheal, with the main points being the pinch point and the a-shi point (a localized point where acidity, numbness, distension and pain are evident).
1. Selecting the acupuncture point corresponding to the disease and directly needling the place where the evil poison flows can detoxify and diarrhea the fire, relieve pain and open up the channels.
2. Localized Ah Yes points, using the millimetre needle diarrhoea method, puncture or circumferential puncture cupping, to draw the fire and poison out. If there are localized skin lesions, the peri-puncture method should be used.
In addition, according to the patient’s condition, additional points can be added or subtracted. If there is stasis of blood, the Sanyinjiao point and the Sea of Blood point can be added. If there is dampness and heat in the spleen meridian, one can add Nei Ting point, Yin Bai point, Yin Ling Quan point, and so on.
Acupuncture treatment of snake sores has better efficacy, if there is discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in a timely manner, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
