The chemotherapy regimen combining paclitaxel and cisplatin, medically referred to as the TP regimen, is the preferred chemotherapy regimen for many cancers. This chemotherapy regimen can be preferred in lung cancer, esophageal cancer, gynecological cancers and even head and neck cancers such as tongue and larynx cancers. In this chemotherapy regimen, the dose of paclitaxel is usually calculated according to the patient’s weight and height, and all of it is used on the first day, while cisplatin can be used in the total dose on the first day or divided into three consecutive days. The drugs should be pretreated, and electrocardiographic monitoring, monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, heart rate and other vital signs and oxygen saturation should also be performed during use. 2. Cisplatin should be adequately hydrated when used, and patients should be given no less than 2000 ml of infusion per day. Also, since cisplatin can lead to severe vomiting side effects, patients should be given strong antiemetic treatment.
